Celebrating Zimbabwean Students: Erasmus+ Scholarship Send-Off Event

The European Union Delegation to Zimbabwe recently organized a special send-off event for seven outstanding Zimbabwean students who have been awarded Erasmus+ scholarships to study in Europe. The informal event, held at the EU Delegation, provided an opportunity for these students to interact with the EU Ambassador, Erasmus alumni, and scholarship experts during a pre-departure orientation.

 

The EU Delegation to Zimbabwe recently organized a special pre-departure event to celebrate the achievements of seven Zimbabwean students awarded the prestigious Erasmus+ Scholarships. This year, these exceptional students will study in France, Germany, Czechia, and Portugal, pursuing various fields such as social work, governance and administration of leisure and sports, technology and management of circular economy, cartography, and advanced structural analysis and design with composite materials.

The send-off event, held at the EU Delegation, featured a warm welcome and insightful pre-departure orientation conducted by Erasmus Alumni and scholarship experts. Highlights included a group photo with the EU Ambassador, Mr. Jobst von Kirchmann, and presentations by Reagan Chidhakwa, Country Representative of Erasmus Mundus Association Zimbabwe, Tsitsi Gonzo, an experienced scholarship holder and University of Zimbabwe Language and Culture Lecturer, and Tariro Masaraure, an Erasmus Alum.

The Erasmus+ program is a flagship educational initiative of the European Union, fostering academic and cultural exchange between European countries and partner nations. For Zimbabwe, this program not only enhances educational opportunities but also strengthens bilateral, promotes cultural enrichment and mutual learning.
